Diary of Philipp Waldeck [manuscript], 1776-1780.

Waldeck writes about the departure from Germany, the voyage to America, the battle of Ft. Washington, engagements in the New Jersey campaign, the voyage to Florida via Jamaica, and campaigns in the Floridas. There are detailed descriptions of all the places and inhabitants where he was stationed including much about Germans in the U.S., slavery in Jamaica, and the Choctaw and Creek Indians in Florida.
